Nothing

Nothing

A Poem by Max Whipple III
"

( )

"

nothingness swirls inside absence

sweeping my senses clean of clarity

leaving only uncertainty

a hungering doubt

a ravenous void without limits

swallowing my will

aimless and free

a restraining freedom

deceptive and bleak

a reflection or a curse

interminable or fleeting

an end or a beginning

a cyclical sickness feeding the finality of my existence

dizzying and yet plodding

a calming confusion

leaving only uncertainty
