Words die

Words die

A Poem by Maxwell Ryder

"
If you are in love with the written word,
As I am,
Be they God's, Wordsworth,
Or just Sam-I-Am;
The words of Shakespeare,
Tyrants, the best and the worst,
Caesar, Cicero, or Horace,
All words die in due course;
They cannot ride the solar winds.

Just as everything has to end. The "Conquest of Gaul" has been around a long time so it may be a while before your words finally are gone and forgotten. Nice and short. CD
