A Disapointment

A Disapointment

A Poem by Mae Taylor

Everything swirling around my head

too many obligations I dread.

Putting myself last

for those I think of best.

Having always been the benefactor

helping others and playing a soldier.

Locking away my troubles, my pain

for others I do, though nothing I stand to gain.

Now through one selfish action,

I make in self preservation,

any well thoughts of me, cast away,

from those I would die to keep safe.

Left alone to bleed and despair.

Alone to feel like a failure.

Down cast and betrayed

a disappointment, I go on my way.

WOW this is a great poem. You captured how I feel sometimes. It's not your responsibility to be the one others walk all over. You have a good heart and i hope some one sees it and tells you in person. Big hugs.
