A Poem by Maylin, Rise
"

A poem about war.

"

The pen flows

As the grass grows

The words hurt

Make you feel like dirt

This is so much more

Than a poem

Its an open door

To momentum

They say the pen is mightier than the sword

But I have never seen a man get murdered one

I’ll be honest with you

I'm actually bored

Of seeing battles being won

You still must win the war

Don’t let the blood be in vain

Don’t let the bones wash up on the shore

Let there be a moral gain

They say violence will increase each year

This is a true statement of sorrow

Please my dear, don’t shed a tear

You’ll just have to shed more tomorrow

For the human mind sickens

It cannot be fixed

Like the cake batter thickens

When mixed

So just fight

For what benefits you,

Your right

To whatever you please,

Say and do
