The Things You Say

The Things You Say

A Poem by Meadow Rayne

You may love to joke,

you may love to tease,

but the things you say,

truly hurt me.

I may laugh it off,

like I really don't care,

but that's only because

I have no more tears to spare.

All I really want,

is to truly be loved.

I want that more

then all the stars above.

I may not be perfect,

but I am me.

and there is no one else,

you should wish me to be.

So remember this the next time

you go to say something mean.

You never do know

if this is the last time I am to be seen.

I know a lovely lady that bares the pain you describe in this piece. I stand on the outside looking in and carry the burden of her pain and anguish. She is a carding, kind hearted sole who would do anything for anyone but is unfortunately cut down. This piece is descriptive of some very low people out there.

Thank you for sharing.

Constructive criticism? You've got it. This is seriously some heartfelt stuff. This part here "I may laugh it off,
like I really don't care,
but that's only because
I have no more tears to spare." Its like saying done being put in pain for you. Eloquently put. The overall rhythm of the is solid and offers a clear meaning to what the poem attempts to evince. Outstanding! :)
