Pig Circus

Pig Circus

A Poem by Nancy

Being escorted into a room
Should make anyone feel important
              Not this time.
Being the only one dressed in bright colors
Should make heads turn
And cause tongues to wag
             This I got right.
Adorned with metal bracelet around my wrist
 Basking in the unwanted attention
 Hold On!
There is something I failed to mention.
This is my trial
To be convicted for something trivial
Now, I await the verdict
My plea of NOT GUILTY!
None would credit
So though I wait
I know which way it will go
Spectators...watching
Shouldn't I put on a good show
on the outside
whilst my heart race for what is coming on the inside
