Where art thou?

Where art thou?

A Poem by Nancy

That tiny part of my heart under seal

Waiting for the right finger to peel

And be set free pleads for release

If I ever find you, many questions I’d ask

The first being “What took you so long?”

To be free without a scar, having being under lock for so long

My heart ponders on how I’d know

Will there be a mark visible to me alone

Pray tell where such a one is

My lonely heart searches for you

With binoculars to scan every nook

With microscopes to zoom into every heart

Desiring to find my name inscribed

A telling sign that you are mine

Except I’m weary of the search

Now settling into the sphere of despair

Masquerading till you come rescue me.

Pray do not tarry

Else I’d wilt from the anguish

Else my heart will languish
