friend it has been so long i wonder if you still listen to our songs i know you're tired and need some time it's not like you've pushed me to the side so it's not so hard because you will come back and tell me all about those new ideas those new songs those new friends you've been with because you're my friend so i'll check my schedule free every weeknd just in case i'll keep writing melancholic letters let you know of our favorite bands of our favorite series of all our favorite inside jokes of everything you're too busy to know about because you're my friend and I wi- should wait for you
Some people are people people and they can make us feel so wanted when we are in their company but then it feels so cold when they divert their entire energy to new friends.
Is it being flakey, is it flitting? I guess, to an extent but if we choose to give the keys of our happiness to others, if we depend on them for our happy, then perhaps we are the one's being unfair. It's not fair to heap the responsibility for our happy onto others.
The inability to 'chill out' is likely to force them away forever.
A totally relatable write. A very well written poem.
(damn well love that word 'divagating' - I thought it meant acting the diva!!)

It is hard to take the rejection unless your the one doing the purging and being the people person.

I'm intrigued that you describe your poems as divagating - that implies you have a one-track mind usually - what track is it?

It's therapy though.
