The ruthless effects of Time and Knowledge

The ruthless effects of Time and Knowledge

A Poem by winter;lyra

One
Two
Three
Twenty four hours
Before you know
But you never trully know
Because you're never old
Because when you are
That's all you know
But we go with what we know
And we know that we're here today
And that tomorrow we'll be further away
So today we'll make of tomorrow what yesterday we wanted of today
And tomorrow we shall take of today what we'll make of the next day
And before that comes we will dine and drink
And before that we will dance and laugh
And before that we will be asleep
And before being asleep
We are none
Because before being asleep we don't exist
Before being asleep we are someone else
But never unware of someone else
Taking our place
And securing the ship

Living holographic days
Looping through the struggle
Nerverending and everfulfilling ignorance
Hypnotized by the possibility of change
But never actually making the shift

Youthfull ignorance
Before aged lonelyness
Because that is all we got

One
Two
Three
Twenty four hours to pretend
