chariots

chariots

A Poem by winter;lyra

Roman chariots
imbued these roads
in parallel paths reforced
this formative ideal
which concurs
with the personative idea
of one elastic aspiration
the arrogant confrontation
between man and God
about bequeathed judgements
surmises history,
promised lands,
messiahs and dormant kings,
from Sumeria to ethereal Avalon

heavens ignite
and burnt feathers rain
leveling granite paths
washing gravel roads
bleaching marble statues
but never the grand designs of fallen men
