You Came

You Came

A Poem by Megan E Twenter

You came in like a ghost
my own haunted dream
you didn't say a word
but you were looking for me

I followed you slowly
as you ascended the stairs
my own heart's possession
you were already there

You came like a violence
fast and ready to push
I fell into silence
I fell into the rush

You came like a wave
on the shore you would crash
I swayed like the sand
underneath the lash

Pulled me out to sea
waded in the water with me
spun me, sucked me under
till we were one with the beach

You came like lightening
with a flash of great light
you lit up the sky
you made day out of night

You came like a raven
in the blackest of shades
you were hauntingly beautiful
and twice as brave

I came like a whisper
a breathe on your neck
a shiver down your spine
awaiting your wreck

You appeared like a vision
an answer to a prayer
that had not yet been asked
but that my heart shared

It's amazing how people come into our lives and how it affects us. Great job!

You have a deep love inside you. Thanks for sharing your talent.

The line awaiting your wreck could be revised. :)
