Remembering Akuze

Remembering Akuze

A Poem by Megan Hahn
"

A Mass Effect haiku, but I think it's still a good haiku, even if you haven't played the games.

"

All the lives we lost,

Not one of them made it out,

But I survived it.

“A hero,” they said,

Am I really a hero,

I let them all die.

“A sole survivor”,

Or just an unlucky girl,

With a chosen fate.

“Build a monument”,

Do not worship me for this,

Build graves for the dead.

“She’s the only one”,

Others could be a Spectre,

Find a true hero.
