Exhausted

Exhausted

A Poem by Mehar Anaokar

I feel so exhausted
Every moment is a blur
I'm losing track of time
And the things that have occurred

My head is buzzing lightly
My eyelids heavy and sore
Was the pain always this numbing?
It had seemed lighter before

My mind is whirring slowly
Inspiration's running dry
Only so much to be said
Nothing left to try

My back, it once held me up
Now it seems to have lost control
Miles of people standing tall
But I'm lying crumpled on the floor

In my limbs I feel a constant ache
And in my heart as well
Is this sickness? Is it sadness?
Because it feels a lot like hell

Another day, another drudge
Another flight of stairs
Another search for glory
But there's nothing to look for there

I feel so exhausted
Every breath feels like the last
Every smile feels like a strain
And it's all slipping from my grasp
