Why Bother?

Why Bother?

A Poem by Lilith

What’s the point in it all?

You put your trust in them,

You open your heart to them,

And then,

They leave you.

They say that everyone needs friends,

But what’s the point?

They sometimes help you,

They can show guidance,

But once they’ve had enough,

Once you think it’s okay,

They leave you all alone,

Without a care in the world.

What’s the point in trying?

Why care anymore?

Wouldn’t it just be easier to only worry about you?

To not have someone that only wants to have their problems heard,

And not help you with yours.

To not be blamed for trying to help,

For trying to protect them.

At least if your alone,

They can’t blame you for anything,

There’s no one to yell or scream,

Only you.

So if it’s that easy when your alone,

Then why bother?
