Fingers

Fingers

A Poem by Melissa Kesead

You have four fingers and a thumb

count 'em now, count 'em chum

You have four fingers on your hand

instead of five, which would be grand

or even six, now that'd be great

just think, you'd never drop a plate

or maybe seven, eight or nine

how about ten, that would be fine

But you don't have ten or even six

it would be hard to pick up sticks

You have four fingers and a thumb

to shake hands, to tickle, to strum
