The Courage to Go On

The Courage to Go On

Like A shadow on the wall
As I look at you I see her standing
in the shadows laughing at me.
You used to always use soft words and
warm kisse s to show me how much you loved me.
Now all you seem to have for me are harsh words and unkind words.

Our love has been tainted, because you chose another

How did we get here?
How did we fall apart like this?
Am I the one to blame?
As I sit here thinking and remembering the love we once shared
I can't contain my tears for a love that was lost,
the soft tender love songs you used to sing in my ear,
as we danced across the room.

The warm embraces, the warm kisses and the soft words
you used to give me , are now nothing but mere words and lies.
They were things of the past.
Will I ever get over you ?

Now I must find the courage to find a way to go on with my life,
a life without you,a life alone with just me and my children,
because, like a shadow on the wall,as I look at you all I see
is her standing in the shadows laughing at me,
saying cruel and unjust things in the background.
Now all that is left for me to do

is try to pick up the pieces of my broken heart,
try to find a way and the courage to go on with my life without you in it,
a life alone with just me and my children.
You have tainted our love

with the girl in the shadows on the wall behind you
who is laughing at me, because she knows the hurt she has caused.
Now I must find the courage to go on with my life without you in it.
