Bitter

Bitter

A Poem by Meraki

My thoughts of you
Were cotton candy
And lollipop squares

Our lips met
Your bitter grapefruit
Taste shattered
My shackled sight

I spit you out
As fast as I could
Brushed my teeth
And washed my tongue

But there your
Bitter taste still stood
Destroying my sweet visions
Of everlasting good

Excellent metaphor use and what I liked was your ability to convey all you wanted to tell us with such an economy of words. That's important in literature and you have already mastered it in this impressive poem.
