Naked

Naked

A Poem by Mercedes Diamond

Laying in pallets of warm, naked skin

Upon the fifth hour from where we began

With rivers of toxins and dehydrated souls

The hours we spent were solely our own.

You kept me distant and blurred, no feelings attached

At that point i knew you'd never come back.

We woke in the morning naked, confused.

With you mad at me and me loving you.

You drove me home in silence, mad that i never came through

But i wanted to keep my innocence and i knew it meant nothing to you.

In a sea of discontent, and arrays of confusion

The thoughts of being yours was all an allusion.

But again i lay here naked. Coming to terms with dignified shame.

But a person like you i'm happy to lose. And you're the only one to blame.

Nice poem . I like the lines:
You kept me distant and blurred.
You drove me home in silence.
