I am Grethal

I am Grethal

A Poem by Mercia74
"

An example of my creepy (hopefully) children's poetry

"

Well hello little Master, hello little Miss,

I hear good things about you both, deserving of my kiss,

Step in for a moment, your parents, they won't mind,

It is so very special, to talk to one's own kind.

For I am Grethal, Lord of Cruel, The Ambassador of Pain,

The Chief of Playing Nasty Tricks, The King of the Insane,

Some say that I'm The Prince of Lies, but that just can't be true,

I need some leaders for my team, and I've heard that might be you.

You'll have to move that pile of bones, to sit down by the Rack,

Don't worry 'bout those distant moans, or how that whip does crack,

Pull those little knees up tight and have a drink on me,

While I boil up something nice to eat, for just a little fee.

Sir I know you like telling tales, and Miss likes pulling hair,

You both like causing trouble, My goodness! What a pair!

Young man your such a bully, young lady you're such a tease,

I've heard about the incident of hiding Daddy's keys.

But then there's so much worse, to tell about you two,

I know you represent the many, not only just the few,

How you pick on small, the weak and lonely ones,

How you make them suffer with your wicked little tongues.

I know you take their pocket money, given by their Mum's,

And spend it all on sweets and all, not a thought about your gums,

But look at mine, all green and fat, who wouldn't want it so

'Cos that is how I started out upon my tale of woe.

I know that you like to try and pick on little things,

Like tearing tiny wings off flies, or putting cats in bins,

Or kicking dogs, or trampling frogs, or swearing bitterly,

Knowing that if folks found out, you'd have nothing for your tea.

Your many lies are wonderful, your cruelty is better,

You'd have liked The Queen of Night, if you'd ever met her,

So I'd like to offer you a place, in my house of fun,

Please do keep up all your ways, (and you'll burn up like the sun).

For my house, your perfect home, where be never sad,

If just for me you keep on being so very, very bad,

All I'll say, this ain't no lie, it's basically my rule,

For all I tell is the truth, says Grethal, Lord of Cruel.

I loved these lines and you have got a good potential,"RISING STAR". Keep up and never despair.

your very welcome, keep it up!(:
OMG, I love this! I'm a sucker for fairy tales, and the best are the traditional old ones, the ones that were cautionary tales and not the frilly, kid friendly Disney kind. Your rhyming was excellent and the this had a such a good flow to it. Absolutely wonderful! I can't wait to read more by you.
