Hollow Tears

Hollow Tears

A Poem by Mest
"

I never knew that crying was meaningless, that tears could be hollow.

"
The world keeps on turning no matter how bad it gets,
Even in the peak of darkness nobody forgets,
The past that haunts the child of shadows,
That creep, the originator of sorrows.

All day and night he sits alone pondering the "why's,"
Waiting for a moment of clarity to realize,
That all this time he's been basking in Death's gloom,
Patiently waiting to say "hello" to Doom.

Desperately, he searches for an exit, a way out,
Trying to forget a lifetime that had been filled with doubt.
Frantically grasping at nothing, trying not to drown,
But he cannot shed the chains weighing him down,
And with his last breath he smiles,
As his hollow tears fall to the ground.
