You Look Pretty When You Die

You Look Pretty When You Die

A Poem by Visente Melchor

Your life flashes

You see the colors clash

The greens of grass and trees

The reds and pinks of polluted skies

The white from teeth saying cheese

The cold yellows from a sunrise

Your life flashes but how many times

Could you change the outcome

Or is your fate already written

You're in your coffin what do you see

Do they just see your dead body or memories

You changed their lives in a shape or form

You're built into them, into their core

Death is here with color, don't ask why

You look pretty when you die

I really loved this piece. It was dark yet beautiful. The 2nd line sorta threw off the flow of the piece. It might be better to put "You see the colors clashing" or "you see the color clash" =) Great job!
