heartbeats go

heartbeats go

A Poem by Dennis A. Clark

back arched

thigh muscles taut

she catches

in her hair

the harvest moon

air wet

and coooool

face flushed

from the rush

she sucks his thumb

ocean

mixed with

sweat

mixed with

swooooon

heartbeats go

tap-tap, tap-tap

taptaptaptaptaptap

thump-thump

ba-boom ba-boom

ba-bum, ba-bum

slowdown

collapse

and sigh

night has never felt so wiiiiide

I love the use of sound words. It makes it more sensual and romantic. Amazing.

Timidly sensual and thoughtfully igniting imagery of the night.

There is an air of gaiety in your words as they cascade down the pages of your heart.....

This sure did make my heart go.... booooooooooom :o)

This is lovely and fun at the same time, put a smile on my face to read it. Nicely penned.

Great. An "adult Seuss" was my aim here.

Thanks, Thinking. This one's best read aloud, I think.

Yes. It has a musical quality to it. And the tapping does it for me.
