By Love Alone

By Love Alone

A Poem by Dennis A. Clark

The moment she shed her armour
Mary transformed, freed at last
from that den of suffering
her rough points now softest skin.
She lay wrapped in her lover,
dressed only in moonlight,
bound by love alone.
For the "Helena's Blue Rose Cafe (10/40)" contest.

love transforms a woman...she becomes bold even reckless to whatsoever blocks her from her beloved...and it is for her lover that she'll risk all that belongs to her...just for his love...shredding the protective armour of her family she finds freedom at lost in his arms...beautiful....

This is an interesting poem. It takes a lot to let down your guard when you've been hurt. The moment of freedom and celebration of sorts comes from letting go, an act some never embrace. Good poem.

I quite agree we create the walls, the bars, the doors, locks and keys. We build our prisons around us to protect us from them and forge the instruments of torture and lie on our wracks and turn the handles blaming the rest of the world for the screams that keep us awake. Great simple and profound piece, thank you.

The most intimate act; great piece and short and simple, which I appreciate! :)
