Mare's Nest!

Mare's Nest!

A Poem by Metaphormosis

Rhythm changed and faded
Beat shifted from fast to a slow staccato
Music sounded chaos
Lyrics became melodramatic

North star changed position
Rise and fall of tides un-synced the moon
Sun stopped rising in east
Night became longer and darker

Summer turned to winter
Heat from furnace cannot suffice
Colorful landscapes were gray
'Twas all cold and frozen

Dreams were nightmares
Wishing star stopped course the earth
Wishing and hoping stopped
Havoc colonized the world

Hero turned to villain
Jekyll was clearly Hyde
Faeries were creatures of the underworld
Happy endings were illusions

Page after page was blue
Letters were puzzles
Images were abstract and chaotic
Novel was dark and gloomy

Dialogue ended with question mark
Answers were all exclamation points
No one dare to argue
All were statements of awe
