Chocolate

Chocolate

A Poem by Hazem Elashaal
"

It's about depression.

"

I long for the taste of chocolate,

Sweet, creamy, and crisp.

But to open this box of chocolates I must solve a complex puzzle.

A puzzle solved by most with ease.

I am not most, I am gifted,

I have been granted a false key,

One that opens the box for a time.

I have tasted the chocolate and now grow dull of its flavor.

I now long to solve the puzzle left behind.
