Lies

Lies

A Poem by michaeleaborn
"

This is a poem about feelings I have on being homeless

"
I was told as a kid/
Don't give up/
But I did.
I was told that/
I could be President/
Never got told/
I would be homeless?/
Twenty in a Shelter/
Things weren’t getting better./
Keep trying/
Have you head up./
please./
I am f*****g fed up/
'Cause I fucked up!/
The struggle is real/
You privileged mother fuckers/
Don't know how it feels./
Trying to be something/
I can be proud of/
If that were the case/
I'd be high above/
The people who hate me./
Yet they have always won/
I am left on my own/
Fake friends stop checking in./
How I could even move forward?/
So I am left to wonder/
When I have lost my self/
Engulf in ADD, Depression,/
And Autism Spectrum Disorder?/
You don't know s**t bout me/
Don't even try to play me./
None of these people/
Understand my Difficulties./
They told me to smile/
Grow up/
Save your money/
Be an adult./
Easier said than done/
I'm fucked./
Life is an experience/
For those who enjoy it/
But I can't do it/
When I just want to quit./
Agencies suffer from being lazy/
Dope me up on medicine/
Cause it's the only cure for crazy./
They have you hooked on it/
Taking a lot of Ritalin /
They blame you/
When you develop an addiction./
This society/
Treats you well if you pay/
Telling us lies/
Assuming it's okay./
News coverage/
Talk nothing but s**t/
Hidden agendas/
Making you its b***h./
But where is help/
When I need it the most?/
Oh I know/
A Like and share/
Equals a prayer/
On a Facebook Post./
This world is limited/
To those who live in it./
Some are lucky/
Like the Corporations/
Who pay their workers lshit!/
Seven Twenty-Five/
To be treated like dicks./
I am done with it!/
Parents nowadays scratching their heads/
Wonderin why kids can't save their Paychecks/
Face it! It's second nature/
We spend it easily/
Schools don't teach/
Nothing but the basics./
We grow up with a false representation/
Told life is what we make it/
But not once were we told/
That life is just a state of imagination./
You graduate to go to college/
But in reality/
We are struggling for knowledge./
When college isn't free./
Babying me in the name of caring/
But won't allow me to make decisions/
Cause you're scared of embarrassment/
From my current altercation./
I understand fully/
I take responsibility/
But I can't make it/
If No one helps me./
