Spilled Memories

Spilled Memories

A Poem by Michael Lopez
"

Living in memories...

"

Photobucket

I love the dark sad evenings of late

Autumn and Winter.

Their moods of loneliness and melancholy,

lonely but full of joy.

I write by candle light,

sitting on the edge of my bed.

Shut off from the world in deep twilight,

sunk in a dream of my own.

Sleep well...

I will not wake you...

there you lay beautiful and quiet.

"I love you".

Your presence in my heart drives me crazy.

Wrapped deep in my thoughts,

my vision becomes one with my surroundings.

The world around me becomes silent.

All I feel is Winters touch against my skin.

With smells of burnt wood.

I cherish these times when life stands still.

Living with my memories,

and being lost without them.

Wondering when it will all come to an end.

People call out to me,

but their words don't reach me.

My body is just transportation for my soul.

Living in solitude doesn't hurt.

Happiness comes when you feel right,

with whats going on around you.

Hi Michael..
Man, you have the exact sentiments about late fall and winter, as I do. Winter is my time to quit filming, and look back on my life. I use it's meloncholy moments to review my life. I have dreamed some of my greatest dream in this season of sleep. This is a wonderful piece, really capturing the feel. I jusge a write simply on the way whether it makes me feel it. This one did. I liked it, alot. Rain

Just one minor spelling error..Their
