"Love is a balloon
chained to your leg
till someone drops it
a cement filled keg"
I think these lines are absolutely stellar and really stand out from the rest of the poem. The poem in its entirety, however, is really superb. I know full well how love can lift you on high, making you feel as if you're walking on air. Then, when it bursts, it weighs you down with such a mixed bag of emotions. While I personally haven’t responded to someone breaking my heart by turning around and deliberately hurting someone else, I know that many do.
I do like the fact, however, that you are aware that you have hurt others. Hopefully, one day, this cognizance will turn “heavy love” to one of “heavenly love.”
Well done!
