Ingratitude

Ingratitude

A Poem by Mick Burke
"

A good day's work turned sour.

"

INGRATITUDE

You asked me to do it, you set me the task,

We both knew that this was a very big ask.

The job was too big, resources too small,

But I put down my head, and gave it my all.

And would you believe it.....I got the job done!

Against all the odds..... I GOT THE JOB DONE!

But something was wrong, an insignificant dot,

That didn't affect the result, not a jot!

So all my good work was forgotten about,

So you could moan and complain and bully and shout.

So when you want something done, be it small, be it big,

You can do it yourself you ungrateful pig!

But you got a job done. Against all odds, you got it done. Ingratitude is someone else's problem.

I do know where you're coming from. I worked at a low-paying job for years, giving 120%, and I was not dealt with fairly...
Well, I'm not going to tell my story, but I do understand.

Thanks Alf. I was pretty angry when I wrote this, I find putting it on paper helps.

That I could feel through your words. keep on getting angry my friend!!!!
I can relate. It's downright discombobulating to have one's generous efforts thrown in the mud. What's wrong with people?
