Night At A Round Table

Night At A Round Table

A Poem by Mick Burke
"

So you think you have problems....

"

They sat 'round the table, there were six of them there,

With trials and troubles they were eager to share.

There were some family problems, some issues with health,

And some unpaid bills, and not enough wealth.

One of them groaned, put his hands to his head,

I wish I'd someone else's problems instead”.

So they each got some paper and started to write,

Then they passed all their problems to the man on their right.

After reading what came from another man's pen,

They unanimously agreed to pass them again.

This kept on happening and soon they were grinning,

As the lists worked their way back to the beginning.

To sum it all up, although we may moan,

If we knew other's problems, we'd hang on to our own!

a very enjoyable read, intertesting scenario and another moral message in the closing that i can agree with. i think we all have our ups and downs, our challenges our problems, its part of each individual's journey to overcome each challenge/lesson and hopefully learn something as we go along (so as not to repeat them). keep penning amigo

Thank you for reading and reviewing.
It's always that way. You have money and bad health; your health is good, and you can't pay your bills. Too much family; no family. Overworked; out of work.

We're better off with what we've got.

That's it exactly Marie. Thanks for reading.
Wow, what a brilliant concept! Really puts things into perspective. I enjoyed the word-play in the title, swapping knight with night. Nice work!
