Nothing Ever Lasts

Everyone thinks something will last forever.
Not scared of what will eventually come.
Being happy with your life without a care in the world.

Then you finally get to that point where things change.
We thought we were going to last forever,
both happy as ever.
We were each others worlds.

As time went by we started becoming opposite people.
You becoming more sensitive and affectionate.
I was becoming the complete opposite,
thinking love was just something people want to believe is true.
Not being as affectionate as I was before.

Leading to us arguing over the stupidest things,
causing each other so much pain.
Slowly coming to a close on our dream,
waking up to reality.

I miss you, how you used to hold me
to how you said you loved me.
Sometimes I want to just forget about you.
To take away some of this pain but I can't.

I will never forget how happy you made me.
