This Time it's Different

A year has gone by since I met you for the second time,

I'm starting to feel something different.

I've been in love,but this here isn't love.

 

Being in love right now isn't what I want,

I want to be happy and care-free.

Just to hang out and take it slow.

 

I don't want to rush into anything this time,

I know I have deep feelings for you.

These feelings are different,

I want to tell you how I feel,

I can't since I know you don't feel the same.

Deciding to get to know you as a close friend,

wanting to take this at a different approach.

 

I want to be yours,

I want to make you happy.

I want to be the one you go to when you need someone.

I want to be the one you want to be with.

I might even love you after time,

who really knows when they will fall in love?

 

At the same time I'm afraid of falling in love again,

being hurt so many times.

I have trouble trusting guys.

I see the way you treat people, how you act.

It's different than most people.

I know I can trust you not to hurt me,

at the same time a part of me will always be scared.

 

When we hang out I want to tell you how I feel.

I hold back every time, wondering if I should tell you.
