Such a word
I know it by heart
Goodbye
Such a path
I stumble through

Goodbye
I've heard
too many times,
So many years

Goodbye
Some maybe new
To this sorrowful word
But know goodbye
Always hit close to home

Goodbye
Some many meaning
But all the same
Goodbye
Could mean forever
Or till the very next day

Goodbye
Is a word
We all know well
Goodbye
Is a word
That makes darkness swell

Goodbye is a word with a word which can be interpreted differently. Some may think the word is a permanent fixture, " goodbye... I'll never see you again" type situation. Where as, some may view the word as temporary "Good bye, I'll see you again tomorrow". You accurately portray this in your poem. Interesting piece, thanks for sharing!
