(Im)possible

(Im)possible

A Poem by Lauren Jones

To burn fire with fire

To drown water with water

To kill death

The most intriguingly impossible ideas

Yet the impossible seems closer than I imagined

You are here with me

Whispering beautifully meaningless words in my ear

You are wrapping me in your arms

You are here with me

Not hundreds of miles away

I feel as if I could fly with wings of my own

Or swim without ever needing air

All because you said you love me
