Life's Story

Life's Story

A Poem by Jennifer

Pretty little thing, your heart so delicate
a single gust of wind will break it apart.
Pretty little thing, your faith so broken
you've got misery down to an art.

Life is no more than a melancholy test
and you're born with everything on the line.
Life is no more than a dangerous game
and nothing, no nothing, will be fine.

Darling, you couldn't be more wrong
life has so much more for you.
Darling, you couldn't be more broken
but you'll make a comeback, it's true.

Beauty lies hidden within every task
a delicate touch of good graces.
Beauty lies hidden within every creation
demanding to leave smiles on faces.

Finding this wonder is no easy feat
but it is there all the same.
Finding this wonder is a test in itself
but perhaps it should be your new aim.

You played with the word sequence - lines 1 and 3 each - very well and a fair rhyme scheme overall.
