mother.

mother.

A Poem by Mikeandike
"

I wrote this one while driving through West Virginia, on my way to Florida.

"
a face is worn and ragged, many peaks and valleys.
the hand of time adorns her side.
only will such a vista been seen,
from our concrete rivers,
to be marveled from afar,
as if our mother cradled her in arms of refuge.

A secret best kept untold.

frailty, majesty,
undoubtedly perfect by virtue of her beauty.
yet scarred,
by Us.

she lays neglected.
can real love outweigh?
her day yet to come.

maybe a Day awaits, filled with
glory, celebration, and maybe.
just maybe.

the lab coat that lies on an oaken pew.
two clasped hands, never to be askew.
a heart of one.

You and I.
Those and These.
Him and Her.
we all fall under her wings.

i'm sure we could repay the Debt.
right?
