Burden to bare

Burden to bare

A Poem by Milinda_Moon

She wakes up in the morning.
Wondering what the day will bring her.
She already feels her heart breaking with every step she takes.
They all look at her and roll their eyes.
She feels her heart crack again.
Another burden to bare.
She hears them snicker to themselves.
Yet another burden to bare.
She tried not to show it.
But she's falling apart each day.
Her face giving away any hurt or pain.
No matter how hard she tries to hide it.
She feels nothing but pain.
Pain and numbness.
Her heart breaks again as she tries not to think about how much it hurts.
Finally her day ends.
The days worth of carrying around such heavy burden weakens her heart yet once again.
She falls to her knees trying to concentrate.
Yet her heart breaks again falling apart.
She takes in her last breathe and wishes the pain would stop.
But she knows as long as she lives she'll always carry such burden.
It's her burden to bare alone...
