A Poem by Millie

We sit back to back
With no word said
Yet the intense screaming
Of a child's yell lay in-between us
This fight is not for child's ears
Coldness shakes and rattles down
As I hear your icy breath
Spiteful words no child should hear
Kindness of my voice stings
Causing you confusion
Wicked kindness no child should hear
The silence between us
Broken by a child's scream
