Susurration

Susurration

A Poem by Shaun Rudie

Susurration
Soft swish of clothes and thoughts -

a supporting candor of these bodies
The continual walking back and forth;
the tap-clink of forks on trays scraping food into little bits:

a savage enterprise
And we smile with these little bits between our teeth,
trying to appear civilized
But our teeth are sharp,
and we chew civilization away because it
tastes good
