The voice inside your head.

Have you ever paid attention to the voice inside your head? he's speaking to you right now.

Hello?... can you hear me?...

I'm the voice inside your head,

I'm the person who speaks to you,

When you want something read.

 

You always seem to ignore me,

Frankly I don't know how,

I bet you haven't noticed,

That I'm speaking to you right now.

 

Perhaps I should get an accent?

A lisp, a stutter or tone?

Would that make you notice me?

Or am I talking to a stone?

 

And OH the books you choose to read,

(admittedly quite few).

How very rude for you to think,

I share the same interests as you.

 

So as punishment for your behavoir,

I'll launch my only attack,

Should you ever decide to notice me,

Be sure I wont answer you back!

Seems that your voice is speaking; nay… you may not like the answer, ignoring it maybe very well taken as, yay?

Consideration, amongst other things, as per which voice it is speaking to you, should be a measure.

Is this the voice of conscience? Maybe the voice of reason, then there is the voice of destruction… unmitigated. Throughout the poem, I find myself defending the voice, for this simple reason: there is no relief within the confinement of physical actions.
Speaking from a satire standpoint, which is the feeling this poem gives me, he is correct within his judgment.

If, not for our unconscious (or maybe that other voice) - would we even know something was disarray, would we even care?
