My best friend

My best friend

A Poem by Timotheechalamet12

Here she comes, my best friend,
Ever smiling as she envelopes me over.
Her warmth and presence always ready to lend.
She smiles as she pulls me closer:

Let me tell you about my best friend
With whom all the time I seem to spend
Her favorite color is black and loves darkness
She comes and leaves in her own style with abruptness.

She gives me a hug and holds my hand
She talks a lot almost out of breath
Talking about life and death
Almost like a rocking band.

Looking at her my heart beats fast
Can you blame me?
Many after they met her were aghast
Will you not do that can you give a guarantee?

Who said blue is the warmest color?
Without her I feel duller,
You want to know why?
Because I am lonely without her not going to lie.

A look at her dark features I smile
Because without her I was alone all this while
Now at least she is here to make my day
Be it January or May.

She makes me think so much
From childhood, to teenage
To adulthood where I am locked in a cage.
She lets my thoughts flow with a single touch.

Oh! Forgot to mention her name
You will know her of course! she has so much fame
Her name is depression and she is not tame
Makes me cry, makes me doubt but never leaves me alone all the same
In the lonely nights she makes me play the thinking game
Not fun and in the end all I feel is shame

But at least she is there at the end
So this is my my best friend
