An Emptiness like Home

An Emptiness like Home

A Poem by MiriamMB
"

Just a poem written on impulse about isolation and loneliness and learning to love and accept being alone.

"

it's all for me, you see

no need for an audience

I've never been afraid of the dark

or long silences

I can't start now

I know the sound of one's own voice

reverberating backwards

like the sound of a slap in an empty room

I've learned to know the itch of an ill

fitting body

Fallen into the ache of a life tied

too tightly around me

I've learned to carry my own burdens

to slowly crack and heal

when I can

So you see, this is all for me

I can exist fully

I don't need to be seen to be.

Another provocative train of thought. Introspection allows self acceptance, humility, and empathic or sympathetic humanity. Your poems all reflect on relationships it seems.
