Alas, I can not swim

Alas, I can not swim

A Poem by Misfits Girl

A tidal wave of feeling black as the night, as she struggles to raise her head, cascading across her

She is lost, barely afloat, feebly kicking against the current of occurrences dragging her within to the depths of her memories

She is alone, swept out to the abyss for a journey she lacks the supplies to encounter

there are no sails for the wind to catch to speed her, no hull to hold her grief and torment and no talisman within her charts to draw her to the shore

I am fading, succumbing to the call of the waves, over cliché murky depths rise from within and the cold breath is exhaled with the final sound of ever pressing silence

I am floating finally, for alas, I can not swim.
