Smile

A happy poem for a change(:

Close my eyes
Remember your smile
Feel the butterflies
All tangled up inside.

Take a breath
Whisper a shy "hello"
Feel the blood
Rush up to my cheeks.

Keep head down
Don't want to embarrass
Myself, you make me nervous
I forget to breathe.

Swallow hard
While you take my hand
Your relaxed warm palm
Envelopes mine.

Raise my head
To see your smile
Dazzling as bright
As your deep eyes.

You lean in
And close your eyes
What are you doing?
Realization hits me.

Gasp quietly
Your soft lips press
To mine and I
Smile.

First kisses can make a girls palms sweat and heart race and you've captured this moment beautifully. I still feel this way each time my husband leans down to kiss me... its a beautifully written poem and I agree with the other reviews, you captured the perfect kiss AND pictured a person... this poem definitely made me smile.
