I'll Explain, You Listen

I'll Explain, You Listen

A Poem by Sariel Hana

I'll explain if you just sit and listen, wonder and wish.
Don't listen to me while I explain.
You're the one with the mind,
You can wander and want while I explain.

Sit in the back,
With your feet propped up
On the seat in front of you.
The faux leather one,
As we glide along in your makeshift car.
I'll explain, you listen.

I talk you dance,
I shout, you leave the conscious realm behind you.
I mumble, you cackle.
I cry, you sneer.
I sob, you grin.
I explain, you listen.

Listen to the whooshes and snaps,
The noises you pretend yo barely hear,
While I'm explaining.
Make me angry and wish for ice cream,
And a new city,
As I explain.
What an old soul you are.
Spirited and sensitive.
Wise and whimsical.

I'll explain, you listen
I'll explain if you wonder and want and wish.
