No Longer

No Longer

A Poem by Miss Suicide
"

Co-written with my sister.

"

I want to dye my hair
and spend tyme with my friends
always spending money
and wearing the latest trends

Don't yell at me
I am not a child
it's not like you haven't done
something crazy and wild

Yes I am a teenager
yes you are my mother
but that doesn't mean
that I am my brother

I understand what you think
that what I say isn't true
but consider my feelings
it's not always about you

No longer a little girl
I have grown up some
now I am more mature
you knew today would come

I am an adolescent
confused and insecure
no longer a little kid
of this I am sure

This had a wonderful rhythm and flow t it. I thought the showing the stages of your growth as a person was transcending. You are no longer a child and are becoming an adult that is one of the hardest time in anyone life. Trying to find your place so to speak in the universe. I spent that time in my life discovering who I thought I wanted to be not the person I truly wanted to be. I hope your journey takes you to a place that both you and your heart wish to be. In a parent's eyes you will forever be there child that is just the way it is I suggest to learn to live with it and understand that will never change. They will hopefully gain a new respect for you and who you are but you will forever be that same child that came crying to them when you scraped your knee and wanted them to make the hurt go away. This piece shows that you have the chance to find yourself and the person that is inside you just remember to look and see don't just follow.

Well Done!!!!!!!

the rhyme worked well here. it kept this poem from getting too deep, or trying to get too deep, which would have made it just another piece of angsty teen poetry.
i understand the feeling here all too well.
