Ghost Lady

Bumped into Ghost Lady late last night,

Walking out East of town,

Out on the tracks by the old wood bridge,

At the spot where the river comes around.

The night was hot,

And I was tired,

I didn't have much to say,

I just said, “Hi, how do you do?”,

And watched her float away.

Played Diddly Bo on the porch last night,

Just as the stars come out,

Ghost lady came and she danced in the grass,

At the spot where the road comes about.

I held my peace,

And so did she,

Just the sound of bugs,

But we didn't never talk a lot,

I'd call and she'd just shrug.

Ghost lady came to my room last night,

Just as the moon come out,

Came and she asked if I wanted to dance,

Round the hills while the moon was out.

I went with her,

And she with me,

The moon lit up that night,

And I ain't never coming back,

I'm here and it feels just right.
