Tiger Lilies

Tiger Lilies

A Poem by Gina Laurie Whitford

When the wind, that blows on my face.

I see a tiger lily in their place.

On streams or rivers where I stand.

I hold a tiger lily in my hand.

Author's Note

Gina Laurie Whitford
This is the very first poem I ever wrote at the tender age of 12. I was in the 6th grade. It sounds kinda dorky now but at the time I really loved it. I think this might have been a school assignment because on the original copy I have in the left margin the number of syllables of each line.

This is really good, the imagery it brought was spectacular... The first line brings a touch of wind that was blowing on the poet's face... Then the third line brings in my mind a river side place where the poem is taking place... Excellent work...

Sincerely
Dhiman
