If The End Of The World Was Tomorrow

If the end of the world was tomorrow

I would cheer,

For the end of us marks the beginning of true life.

Humans do not understand

what we have done to mother earth

and it makes me weep.

The death of the wild follows our life

and how can we possibly live

without it.

If the end of the world was tomorrow

I would laugh with joy

in my heart.

We have destroyed ourselves

and earth's habitats

by striving to achieve pointless goals.

The planet is covered 

with the graffiti of our race

making it hideous and polluted.

If the end of the world was tomorrow

I would cry all day

with despair.

Oh! Everything I have yet to do

I have wasted my precious time here

doing things that are irrelevent.

I shall go to the one I love

and I shall kiss him upon his lips

and say goodbye.

I will tell him I love him and

shall hold his hand to my bare chest

so he can feel my heartbeat.

Why can't we get more time

why are we so wasteful with our lives,

why do we take everything for granted?

If the end of the world was tomorrow

what is it that

you would do?

Would you cry all alone

or would you just deny 

that this is really the end for it all?

Would you rejoice and celebrate

the end 

or would you weep with your family.

Would you reject religion 

or would you embrace it

with your arms wide and trusting?

Would you do as I would

and go to the ones you love

so you can spend the last of your time together.

If the end of the world was tomorrow

the world would be a better place

for all of the creatures.

Maybe life would return

to our grand planet

and Mother Earth will forgive.

Slowly, eveolution will take hold again

and the planet will be filled 

with new animals and plants.

Maybe if Mother Earth is wise

humans will not ever

return to the planet.

The world will be better

without our disruptions

we make as we walk the earth.
