I have you.

I have you.

A Poem by Mitzie
"

About love.

"

In bed I cried

Out of nowhere but somewhere

Something wanted to open in me.

Wide awake fear keeping it down

Safety trying to hold me back

“Keep breathing “the voice inside my face said

I wagged my leg the way I do

Sometimes that helps, sometimes not

And then you were there

Cradling me

“I have you” you said

Over and over again

Tender, your voice so tender

Like a whisper in the air

“I have you”

Never before had I heard words so exquisite

I believed you

They fitted into my feeling

I let go and I cried

and  I cried.

Howling like a wolf

My leg ceased wagging

“I have you”

My body fell into itself

Your words covering me

Loving me

Letting me be.
